Routine Lawn Mowing
Grass is nature’s carpet—but it takes skill and experience to make it really stand out.
A Beautiful Lawn Is No Accident
A lush green lawn is a satisfying sight to come home to – and the perfect surface for sports, playful kids, running the dog and just laying around. Grass is nature’s carpet – but it takes skill and experience to make it really stand out.
Professionally maintaining a lawn is much more technical than just mowing grass. To get it right, you need to understand how grass grows and what it likes. Before moving to an organic fertilization program, cutting your grass to the right length and at the right time is what matters.
Buyer Beware: Some contractors exploit ways to increase their business and find ways to up-sell their products and services. By cutting your grass too short and suggesting it needs to be done too often, these contractors can then sell you weed control systems because weeds will now be encouraged to grow with less competition.
Similarly, with grass cut too short, it will become dehydrated more quickly and often turn yellow or brown. This is an easy time for the contractor to offer expensive fertilizers and irrigation systems – which you may very will not need at all.
The North Atlantic Difference
We are in it for the long haul. We want to win your business based on our track record of honesty, transparency and mutual benefit. We want you to be so happy you tell your neighbor and you call us when it’s time for a new patio.
For these reasons, we want to mow your lawn as infrequently as possible or to your liking, and not have to use any chemicals to achieve luscious green grass. There are situations where organic fertilizers and irrigation are necessary, but for most lawns the approach is simple:
Cut the grass even, not necessarily short.
Cut no more than one-third of the grass blades at any one time. This allows the structure of the blade to remain intact and healthy, allowing for strong roots as well as new growth.
Cut the grass based on growing conditions and rainfall. During peak growth months, grass may need to be cut as often as every five days, while in the hotter slower growing months, every other week may be enough.
Trim weeds and tall grass around foundation, trees and beds as requested.
We look forward to speaking with you and building a lawn maintenance program that fits your needs exactly!
